We've only just begun our journey with WISDAM and used it on several projects. We now want to share this tool with others working in our field and make many improvements along the way.
MISSION
Provide free innovative tools, developed by experts, that enable non-experts to monitor species populations and their habitats.
VISION
Promote the global protection of our wildlife and the ecosystems that are critical to their survival as well as ours.
Users and future directions
The WISDAM software is already in use by a number of researchers, community groups and NGOs both in Australia and internationally. These projects have included surveys of dugongs in the Great Barrier Reef, Shark Bay and Exmouth Gulf in Australia, as well as in Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, the Seychelles and Saudi Arabia.
We will continue to improve WISDAM so that the functionality and range of applications continues to increase. See our Get Involved page to find out how you can help us continue to create tools to support wildlife conservation.
We are also continually improving our Marine Animal Detection AI model (MAD AI). See our AI page for further information. This model is also freely available, and the more labelled training data we have, the more generalisable this model will be, and the more people can use it. So please get in touch on the email below if you would like to contribute.
